Yuri Cartland is a skilled communicator with experience in diverse media formats. From narrating Amsterdam’s history as a tour guide to establishing an English community newspaper in the same city, he has expertly manoeuvred through different communication platforms.
Yuri graduated with first-class honours in Media Communications and Marketing from the University of Western Australia and earned recognition as a published academic author for his research on start-up communities.
Video production, however, is where Yuri truly comes alive. Over 8-years, he’s crafted documentaries and business narratives that resonate deeply, establishing emotional bridges with viewers.
Recognising the common communication challenges local businesses grapple with, Yuri designed this transformative workshop. A masterclass that empowers businesses to produce top-tier content quickly and efficiently, irrespective of their scale.
Debra Bishop
Seasoned TV & Radio Journalist, Media Trainer
Debra is a long-established and industry-respected West Australian media professional, a highly sought-after media trainer, and a strategic and crisis media adviser.
With more than 20 years of mainstream newsroom experience, Debra has conducted thousands of interviews and presented, reported and produced local, national and international news and events on radio 6PR, ABC radio and television, the 7 Network and Network 10.
She has won national awards as a documentary producer and worked in national TV current affairs as Bureau Chief, producer and reporter, as well as Chief of Staff with the 7 Network.

Indeed, there’s a plethora of free online resources, including YouTube, TikTok, and various courses. However, self-guided online learning often leads to countless hours spent sifting through information for partial answers to specific questions.
Most importantly, when it comes to video production, we need to practise!
Many, like us, have tried online courses but failed to finish them. Much of what we’ve learned was gained online – over years!

Do I need to buy a new phone to attend?
No, please don’t. Usually, an iPhone or Android device between three and four years old is all you need to create amazing videos. If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to contact us.

Do I need expensive gear and apps to get started?
NO! Although we love our gear, you do not need expensive gear to get started. Depending on the kind of content you want to produce, a low-cost phone tripod and pro camera app is you need.
We do provide a list of recommended and affordable gear and accessories you can choose to purchase online.
